Infrastructure Advisors was called upon to provide a Public-Private Partnership Considerations Report in support of New York Governor’s Life Sciences Initiative under the auspices of the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York and Empire State Development Corp. The services supported the overall initiative of the New York State Department of Health’s urgent need to rehabilitate the State’s public health laboratory while creating broader economic opportunities in the state through potential partnerships and collaborations with private life science companies. IA provided observations and recommendations on the evolution and current state of partnership models in the life sciences industry. Several case studies were examined on multiple parameters for their applicability. The team also developed a vision along with short term and long term growth strategies for the development of a life sciences cluster in Albany, New York, that considered revenue generation, cost containment, financing structure, and associated institutional architecture.
